A Jet Airways flight’s passengers suffered nose and ear bleeding today morning. The mistake of the cabin crew in the maintenance of cabin pressure led to serious consequences. After the incident, the flight had to turn back to the Mumbai airport.

According to sources, the Jet Airways’ cabin crew allegedly forgot to turn on a bleed switch due to which the cabin pressure could not be maintained. Among 166 passengers, 30 suffered severe nose and ear bleeding and a few others complained of a severe headache, after which oxygen masks had to be utilized.

Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has started an investigation to look into the matter. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Lalit Gupta probed into the incident and said, “During the climb, the crew forgot to select a bleed switch due to which cabin pressurization could not be maintained.”

The cabin crew of the flight has been relieved off their scheduled duties. The flight immediately headed back to the Mumbai airport and the passengers were given first aid treatment. Jet Airways gave a statement stating they regret the inconvenience and arranged an alternate flight for the passengers from Mumbai to Jaipur.
